A new operating model for the department came into effect on 3 July, designed to drive better health, wellbeing and safety outcomes for all Victorians.
Our new model is underpinned by a number of priorities:
a renewed commitment to areas and operations divisions
consolidation of policy and program responsibilities for each Ministerial portfolio
bringing together whole of department functions that help to connect portfolios
a dedicated focus on quality and safety
a commitment to new capabilities and ways of working.
The new structure comprises six divisions, each headed by a deputy secretary:
Children, Families, Disability and Operations
Health and Wellbeing
Housing, Infrastructure, Sport and Recreation
Strategy and Planning
Regulation, Health Protection and Emergency Management
In addition, two time-limited units – Children and Families Reform and Organisational Redesign – and three administrative offices (Safer Care Victoria, Victorian Health Information Agency and Family Safety Victoria) commenced operation on 3 July.
These changes to the department’s high level structure do not impact your relationship with the department, your regular contacts or their contact details.
