Despite the state’s broader economic success, people with disability continue to face barriers and discrimination which leaves them significantly underrepresented in the workforce.
Every opportunity: Victorian economic participation plan for people with disability 2018-20 was launched by the Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing, Martin Foley on 8 February.
The plan outlines 21 actions to improve the work, study and business opportunities for Victorians with disability, and to maximise the benefits of the NDIS.
It sets a target of six per cent employment of people with disability across all Victorian Government departments by 2020, and is backed by an investment of $2.6 million.
